ORMOND BEACH MAN CLAIMS SHARE OF $5 MILLION
FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT

TALLAHASSEE-- The Florida Lottery announced today that FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner John Shevlin, 75, of Ormond Beach claimed his share of a $5 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot. The drawing held on January 23 produced two jackpot winners. The other winning ticket, which has not been claimed, was purchased in Saint Cloud.

Shevlin chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for his winnings in the amount of $1,437,694.84. He purchased his winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket at Publix, located at 3750 Roscommon Drive in Ormond Beach. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $7,500 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

The winning numbers were:

37 - 39 - 42 - 47 - 49- 51

Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $2.76 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.

Shevlin is the 34th FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winner to purchase a winning ticket in Volusia County. To date, there has been more than 940 FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot winners statewide since 1988.

The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be held on Wednesday, February 3, at 11:15 p.m. ET with a $7 million jackpot. Webcasts of Florida Lottery drawings are available on the Lottery's Web site at flalottery.com.
