HAINES CITY MAN WINS $200,000 POWERBALL® PRIZE TALLAHASSEE--The Florida Lottery today announced that Jose Alejandres, 32, of Haines City, claimed $200,000 from the POWERBALL® drawing held on March 13. Alejandres would have won $1 million had he purchased Power Play on his ticket for $1 more. He purchased his winning POWERBALL ticket at Murphy USA, located at 36115 Highway 27 in Haines City. POWERBALL jackpots start at $20 million and increase with each rollover. Power Play is an add-on feature to POWERBALL that gives players a chance to win up to $1 million. With the purchase of a POWERBALL ticket players can add Power Play for $1 more per play to multiply their non-jackpot prize winnings. Power Play purchasers who match 5 numbers will win $1 million - the POWERBALL match 5 prize multiplied by 5. All other non-jackpot prizes will be multiplied by the Power Play number, from 2 through 5, selected at draw time. The next POWERBALL drawing will be held Wednesday, March 17, at 10:59 p.m. ET with a $20 million jackpot.
