Womack purchased his winning ticket from Express Lane, located at 804 Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach. He said he usually buys tickets there and they seem to have a lot of winners. While he did not scratch the ticket in the store, he did return to the store after discovering he was a winner, to share his excitement with the staff. After picking up his check today, Womack said he and his wife are headed to Biloxi, MS. He will also be celebrating his birthday next week. The $1 Scratch-Off game launched on April 21, 2008 and features more than $3 million in cash prizes. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.97. Tickets may be purchased at any of the more than 13,000 Florida Lottery retail locations. Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $19 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education. # # # |
