SARASOTA RESIDENT CLAIMS $1 MILLION PRIZE
IN MERRY MILLIONAIRE SCRATCH-OFF GAME

TALLAHASSEE-- The Florida Lottery today announced that MERRY MILLIONAIRE Scratch-Off winner, Jo Turner, 56, of Sarasota, claimed a $1 million top prize at Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Turner chose the one-time, lump-sum payment for her winnings in the amount of $650,000.00. She purchased her winning MERRY MILLIONAIRE Scratch-Off ticket at 7-Eleven, located at 5420 N. Lockwood Ridge in Sarasota.

The $10 MERRY MILLIONAIRE Scratch-Off game launched on October 6, 2009 and features more than $27 million in cash prizes. There is one $1 million top prize remaining. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-3.54. Tickets can be purchased at any of the more than 13,000 Florida Lottery retail locations.

Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
