ORLANDO WOMAN WINS $200,000 POWERBALL® PRIZE TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery today announced today that Laura Gonzalez, 52, of Orlando, claimed $200,000 from the POWERBALL® drawing held on December 26, 2009. She would have won $1 million had she purchased Power Play® on her ticket for $1 more. Laura is very excited about her winnings and looks forward to helping her daughter pay off her student loans. She purchased her winning POWERBALL ticket at Sandlake Chevron Food Mart, located at 7331 W. Sandlake Road in Orlando. This retailer previously sold a $189 million jackpot-winning POWERBALL ticket. POWERBALL jackpots start at $20 million and increase with each rollover. Power Play is an add-on feature to POWERBALL that gives players a chance to win up to $1 million. With the purchase of a POWERBALL ticket players can add Power Play for $1 more per play to multiply their non-jackpot prize winnings. Power Play purchasers who match 5 numbers will win $1 million - the POWERBALL match 5 prize multiplied by 5. All other non-jackpot prizes will be multiplied by the Power Play number, from 2 through 5, selected at draw time. The next POWERBALL drawing will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 10:59 p.m. ET with a $125 million jackpot.
