FORT MYERS MAN WINS $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that George Cutting, 36, of Fort Myers, claimed a top prize in the $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Cutting chose to receive his winnings as annual payments of $52,000 for the duration of his life, guaranteed for a minimum of 20 years. He purchased his winning ticket from Crystal Gas, located at 2101 Crystal Drive in Fort Myers. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
The $2 Scratch-Off game, $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE, launched in June 2015 and features more than $56 million in prizes. The game's overall odds of winning are one-in-4.44.
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 67 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $632 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2014-15.
