MAKES ONE ARREST
TALLAHASSEE - Last week, law enforcement agents with the Florida Lottery's Division of Security conducted 52 compliance checks as part of its on-going Operation Integrity efforts. Lottery retail locations in Broward, Indian River, Miami Dade, Palm Beach, and St. Lucie counties were included.
One arrest was made at Ali Market, located at 5361 North Dixie Highway in Deerfield Beach. The store clerk arrested was charged with Unlawful Assignment or Transfer of Right to Claim Prize (violation of section 24.118 (2), Florida Statutes).
Security compliance checks are part of the Lottery's on-going effort to heighten awareness of what it does as an organization to combat illegal activity. The Florida Lottery has zero tolerance for fraudulent activity by players or retailers.
The Florida Lottery's Division of Security works to identify and take action against criminal behavior involving its retailers. If you notice any suspicious activity involving a Lottery retailer or your Lottery purchase, contact the Lottery's Division of Security immediately at (850) 487-7730. The earlier you report suspicious activity the easier it is to investigate.
